Wool and hexagons combine in this easy table mat that’s ready for spring! I added embroidery to some of the hexagons to create a flower. The edges are finished with binding adding another pop of color.
Description
Finished Size: 14” in diameter
Supplies Needed:
- 15” square ecru wool – background
- 15” backing fabric
- Fat Quarter for binding
- 3” gold wool – center hexagon
- 6” x 9” purple wool – hexagons
- 9” x 12” green wool – hexagons
- DMC floss to match wools as close as possible
- DMC floss either darker or lighter than wools for contrast
- #7 embroidery needle
- Acrylic hexagon template for 1” finished hexagons (Sue Daly Designs) – optional
- Fine tip Sharpie
- Fabric glue (such as Roxanne’s glue baste)
- Basting spray (such as 505 Basting Spray)
- Freezer paper
