I am forever drawn to any variation of a nine-patch. As with many quilt blocks, the nine-patch holds so many design possibilities. Simply changing size or color can create a whole new look. This design looks great with a larger scale print for the feature fabric and a supporting cast of small scale prints and solids.

Supplies:
- Fabric 1 (Feature fabric): FQ (if you are fussy cutting the main blocks then you will need enough for four 5.5” squares and the remainder of the smaller pieces. I was able to cut all necessary pieces, including the fussy-cut main blocks from 1/2 yard)
- Fabric 2 (“path” fabric): 1/4 yard
- Fabric 3 (First 3 pieced borders): 1/3 yard (tan fabric in sample)
- Inner Solid Border: 1/4 yard (light blue in sample)
- Outer Border: 1 yard
- 1/3 yard Binding
- 1 yard Backing
- 36” x 36” batting
