When my brain gets on a train I’m never quite sure where the tracks may lead or if the train will jump the tracks and head off elsewhere. It’s always exciting to see what ideas all of a sudden pop into my head. I am inspired by colors and shapes, architecture, clothing, flowers, tiles, you name it! This design was a natural next step after I designed my Persuasion table mat. I used the 15 degree ruler from Creative Grids and love the accuracy and ease it brings to my pieces.

The wedges are super easy to cut using the ruler. An accurate 1/4″ seam allowance ensures the tree skirt lies nice and flat. It doesn’t require a lot of elaborate quilting, I simply quilted in the ditch for this sample but I think I will add a little more quilting on the next sample. This tree skirt has plenty of quilting but I would like to see how it looks with just a bit more.
The pattern is available here in my shop. It works up fairly quickly and easily. I think it would make a great present for a new couple or possible someone who is celebrating their first Christmas in their own place. I would love to see what fabrics you use. Post your design on social media using the #gentlethreadneedleartdesigns so I can see what you have created!
Thanks for stopping by today. Many blessings to you!
