I am having fun designing and making these monthly mini quilts. While I want it to be obvious that they all go together, I also want them all to be unique. July always makes me think of parades and children in little red wagons waving pinwheels, fireworks and flags. Classic, traditional summer moments.

One inch half-square triangles make sweet little pinwheel blocks and a button in the center conceals if your points don’t match up perfectly. I think the buttons also add to the whimsy of this quilt. I used a metallic red floss to stitch the firework and pulled out my prismacolor pencils to color the flag before I embroidered it. I do love to color as I find it very soothing. I am certainly no artist; I simply enjoy the process and think it adds richness to my embroidered images.
Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord.
Psalm 33:12
The word of God is so rich, full of wisdom and blessings to those who know Him and follow hard after Him. As we celebrate national holidays to commemorate our fallen soldiers or to remember gaining our independence let us turn our hearts to remember the One who gave His life for us giving us true freedom.
This pattern is available here. I hope you have fun making your own little welcome sign!
Thank you for stopping by today. May you experience the richness of His blessings as you seek His face.
