To me, June means strawberries. I remember going to a farm with my mom, way out in the country, when I was a little girl. We would bring home so many quarts of berries and my mom would make jars and jars of strawberry jam. To this day I love strawberry jam on my toast in the morning.

Last summer I planted a small patch of strawberries for my grandson and I. As of today he is just starting to walk! His mama and daddy are very excited as I know I was when my little girl started walking so many years ago. As I planted the small strawberry plants last year, I had visions of my little man and I walking hand and hand this summer and picking fresh berries to enjoy under the summer sun together.

The plants have just started to grow so we won’t be eating fresh berries for a couple more months but I know I will be looking everyday for blossoms to appear on the plants.

I had so much fun designing this mini quilt for my Welcome Home series. My goal was to give the idea of a basket with the piecing in the background. I quilted in the ditch between the rows as well as in the ditch along each dark brown rectangle. I think the strawberries turned out very cute, I even added a small bit of stuffing to the middle berry just for fun.
This pattern is available here in my shop. You can also find the other patterns I have done so far. The rest of the months will be coming along before the actual month arrives.
Whatever June means to you, I hope it is filled with happy memories and joyful times with those you love.
Blessings to you,
Michelle
