Spring. Summer. Warmer weather. Yes please. We had a really warm day two days ago then winter decided it wasn’t done. My daffodils and Siberian irises are now wearing a soft blanket of snow. *sigh*

I have decided that I love polka dots. They are so fun and happy and always make me smile. This is relatively a new discovery for me. It’s like all of a sudden one day I decided I loved them and now I look for them every where….maybe my inner child is coming out. I’m not really sure but since polka dots are so harmless what does it really matter?
I used precut paper pieces from Sue Daly Designs to make the little Dresden Plates for this little quilt. The polka dots in the petals needed some friends in the sashing so the black and white fabrics were my fabrics of choice. You can find the pattern here in my shop.

The pinks and greens make me think of summer and picnics and little girl’s dresses. Sometimes we need to make a conscious effort to think on good things and not dwell on the bad. Easier said than done sometimes but certainly worth the effort.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Philippians 4:8
Today I pray you are able to think on the lovely things around you and spend time doing something that brings you joy.
Blessings to you,
Michelle
