The April edition of my Welcome Home monthly series is ready! The flowers are NOT popping up in my gardens yet. While we had a couple of spring-like days last week, the snow has not melted yet and tonight the wind is scary and the temps are dropping quickly! It’s a good night to settle in and stitch!

I chose a sage-y green and an almost apricot for the fabrics of the hour-glass blocks. I find piecing these blocks is so much easier for me if I make them slightly over-sized. I can trim them down and square them up so they are perfect! Since this quilt is pretty small, 10″ x 14″, it doesn’t require very many blocks.

This month I chose to get out my colored pencils and embroidery floss again to create this small image of tulips. I love the detail that can be added with the pencils and I think the color really enhances the embroidery. If you decide you don’t want to make the whole series you can leave the month name off the quilt(s) and hang them up longer than a month. The name of the month will be small and sort of “out-of-the-way” in each quilt so if you leave it off the quilt will need little to no altering.

This beautiful metal “Welcome” hanger from Ackfeld Wire inspired this series. I love the teens tiny clips that hold my quilts so no sleeve is needed!

I love the tulips so much without the embroidery I may use them again on another piece and leave them unstitched.
The pattern is here in my shop. There is still plenty of time to stitch this before April comes along!
Thanks for stopping by today!
Blessings,
Michelle
