Home. There’s no place I would rather be than home. It’s filled with the people and things (and animals) I love. It’s where I can just be “me”. I love to fill my home with the things that reflect who I am and what I love. I am so thankful to be able to create with my hands.

This blue and white mini quilt is the first in a series designed to welcome friends and family into my home. It is so easy to put out decorations and accents and then kind of forget about them. I like the idea of having a new piece each month to change things up a bit.

For me, blue and white are the colors of winter and snow. January has not looked like that so far this year. We have had a record LOW amount of snow so far. I have been checking my weather app everyday hoping for some flakes in the forecast. We had a light dusting this morning but it is almost gone now. A few inches of snow to cover the mud and muck would be welcome as far as I’m concerned!

I pulled our my beloved colored pencils again for this design. Just a touch of blue really makes the snowflakes stand out. I also added tiny beads to catch the sunlight.

I found this great metal hanger online at Ackfeld Wire. You can find it here. It has two clips to hold your mini quilt and comes with two dark screws for mounting. I admit I used two small nails to hang it up on the back of my lean-to so I could get a good picture this morning. The lighting is so much better out there. Besides, I don’t have one white wall in my house….

I have been working on patterns for each month. They will all be the same size and will include the word “Home” as well as the month name. I’m hoping that’s where the similarities will end. I want each one to be unique.
The pattern is available here in my shop. February will be available next week with the other months following along before the actual month arrives.
Thanks for stopping by today!
Blessings,
Michelle
